XOXOX Why does "X" mean Kiss?
In olden times people didn't know how to write their names. When signing a document, they would sign an "X" in place of their name. They would then kiss the "X" in front of the witness as a symbol of their trustworthiness. That's how an "X" became the symbol for a kiss.
Happy Valentines Day!

Do you know how the Teddy Bear got his name?

Original "Teddy Bear" Cartoon src: en:Image:Teddybear_cartoon.jpg
Cartoon from November 16, 1902, by Clifford Berryman, an editorial cartoonist for the Washington Post

An Original Teddy Bear
No one is sure exactly who created the VERY first Teddy Bear. But, we do know that when Morris Mitchum, a novelty and candy store owner in Brooklyn, New York, saw Berryman's political cartoon, a great idea for a new toy was inspired! Berryman's wife, Rose, made small stuffed bears to be sold in their shop. Berryman sent President Rosevelt a bear and asked if it was ok to use his name. President Rosevelt agreed and the Teddy Bear was born!
